Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups Review
For dark chocolate lovers everywhere! Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are addictive in the best way. 10/10 – Highly recommend!
Why You’ll Love it:
I expected to like Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, but I didn’t expect them to steal my heart. Which they did. That dark chocolate snap combined with creamy peanut butter is perfection.
These are dangerously delicious and I had a hard time just eating one or two. I swear by dark chocolate and these had just the right sweet and bitter chocolate flavor.
Do yourself a favor and buy two containers. I stick them in the freezer so they last for months and snack on them nightly. These are a hidden gem!
- Rating – 10/10 – All my dark chocolate loving-friends agree!
- Kid-friendly rating – 7/1o – Not all kiddos appreciate dark chocolate.
Where to find it:
Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups come in a 16 ounce plastic container with a brown label and pale yellow letters.
If you go in the frozen foods aisle, you’ll notice a shelf of snacks and treats around eye level. This is where I found them, alongside other chocolate bars and treats.
If you can’t find them, ask a Trader Joe’s employee. Sometimes items sell out or haven’t been restocked yet.
Cost:
At the time of writing 1/10/2024, Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups will set you back 4.49 plus tax.
This makes them a great price! Even Reese’s cost more per ounce and these are far better.
Ingredients:
Always check the label to ensure nutritional information and ingredients are correct. Trader Joe’s has been known to change products and their ingredients, like their lemon bars.
At the time of writing, the ingredients are as follows:
- Semisweet chocolate (Sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor processed with alkali)
- Milkfat
- Soy lecithin (Emulsifier)
- Natural flavor
- Peanut butter (Peanuts, sugar, palm kernel oil, lactose, salt, palm oil, soy lecithin)
Semi-sweet chocolate is a type of dark chocolate that contains anywhere from 35 to 60 percent cocoa solids. It’s on the sweeter side of dark chocolate, but less sweet than milk chocolate.
For reference, Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet chocolate chips contain 47% cocoa.
